The penstock is built of rough rubble masonry, mainly of river boulders, with clear courses in the upper part and faced with a soft lime plaster. The penstock is 5.9 m high with a vertical shaft 4.7 m deep and 1.36 m in diameter. Two distinct lines in the construction of the leat may represent additions to heighten it. There is no visible evidence of a milhouse or outflow. Tracy Ireland
