Mill Description

This location is marked by the Tembria village plan (No. III, Plot 632) as the site of a former watermill. On the south side of the road there is a cavity in the bedrock c. 1m wide, which might be where part of the structure was. If it was built of stone, it has all been quarried away. Given how narrow this cut is, the water intake may have been of the sloping koudouka type, where the water is carried down a sloping wooden channel. According to the cadastral map, the millhouse was on the north side of the road, and is now overgrown with brambles so that it is completely obscured. S. Floridou TAESP Volume 1: 269
