Linou (5th mill)

Mill Description

The fifth mill of Linou is located on the eastern foothills of the Foukasa hill and on the outskirts of the homonymous and famous since antiquity copper mine. Only the stonebuilt base of the aqueduct is preserved at a length of about 10m while the water channel, on top of the aqueduct, is not preserved. It is made of local stones and river pebbles and its maximum surviving height is 2.50m. In the spatial plan of the Cyprus Department of Land and Surveys there are two small buildings: the first is square in plan and most probably represented the room that housed the grinding mechanism while the second room, which is rectangular in shape, perhaps represented an auxiliary room.
